What's with this weather?

We go from 60 degrees to 30 in just 48 hours. I don't know about you, but I'm over it! I get so cold and instantly crave something warm to get me through these gloomy days.

Before being diagnosed with my dairy allergy, I used to be a hot cocoa freak. It didn't matter if it was 80 or 30 degrees out, I would come home from school and instantly make a packet mix of hot cocoa.

I was determined to come up with my own version of my favorite chocolatey drink. One that would be easy to make, and have healthy, organic, ingredients. My cocoa is at least 10x better than any store bought instant packet. I'm so excited for this drink to be on my menu!

Ingredients

  • 2 spoonful's of Cocoa Powder (Got mine from Trader Joe's)
  • 2 spoonful's Organic Cacao Powder
  • Cup of Oat Milk
  • 1 tb of Maple Syrup
  • 1 tb of Vanilla
  • Dairy free (Almond) Reddi-wip

Preparation

  1. Turn your stovetop to high and pour your desired amount of milk into your cup. Add into pot and let simmer for 30 sec - 1 min. Turn down heat to medium high (5 or 6).
  2. First, add your cocoa powder and cacao powder into the pot. Stir around and make sure no clumps are there.
  3. Add your maple syrup and vanilla. Turn up the heat to high and stir stir stir! Make sure everything is mixed together and no clumps are left! Silicone Spatula works best :)
  4. Secret Step (If you have a frother, put it in the pot and froth it up! The foam makes it so creamy) If you don't have one, just pour it into your cup.
  5. Top it with whipped cream!
